Hi there, friend! We’re Mia and Lily Clarke, and we’re so excited you’ve stumbled upon our little recipe haven! Cutie Cooks is where we share our favorite recipes, kitchen experiments, and the occasional cooking mishap (because let’s be real—those happen too!). Whether you’re looking for a quick weeknight dinner or a show-stopping dessert, we’ve got you covered with recipes that are tested, approved, and loved by our families.
Our Story
Our journey to Cutie Cooks started with a cross-country move and a whole lot of sisterly scheming. Mia had just relocated from Toronto to Portland to be closer to family, while Lily was settling into life in Vancouver after years of bouncing around different cities. Despite living in different places, we found ourselves video-calling each other almost daily—not just to catch up, but to swap recipes, troubleshoot cooking disasters, and share what we were making for dinner.
One particularly memorable call involved Lily attempting to make sourdough bread for the first time (it turned into a pancake), while Mia tried to talk her through it while simultaneously burning her own batch of cookies. We laughed so hard we cried, and that’s when it hit us: why not turn these moments into something we could share with others?
Growing up in a small town in Ontario, we weren’t always the cooking enthusiasts we are today. Our mom worked long hours as a nurse, and our dad’s idea of cooking was microwaving leftovers. But when we were teenagers, we started teaching ourselves to cook out of necessity—and quickly discovered we actually loved it! We’d challenge each other to create meals from whatever random ingredients were in the pantry, turning it into a game. Those experimental dinners (some disasters, some surprisingly good!) became our bonding time.
Now, years later with families of our own, we wanted to recreate that same spirit of fun, creativity, and connection—but this time, with an audience beyond just us two. Cutie Cooks was born from late-night brainstorming sessions, shared Google docs filled with recipe ideas, and a shared dream of building something together despite the distance between us.
Our Philosophy
At Cutie Cooks, we believe cooking should bring joy, not stress. We’re all about:
- Real life cooking: We’re busy moms, wives, and working women—our recipes fit into actual everyday life
- Sister-approved quality: Every recipe goes through both of our kitchens before it makes it to yours
- No judgment zone: Burnt edges? Forgot an ingredient? Been there, done that, still ate it!
- Family-focused flavors: We create recipes that appeal to kids and adults alike (picky eaters, we see you!)
- Cooking is connection: The best meals are the ones shared with people you love
What We Offer
Diverse Recipes
From Mia’s famous comfort food creations to Lily’s lighter, veggie-forward dishes, we cover all the bases. You’ll find hearty family dinners, kid-friendly lunches, decadent desserts, and everything in between. We love combining our different styles to bring you variety!
Clear Instructions
We write our recipes the way we’d text them to each other—friendly, detailed, and with plenty of helpful notes. If one of us has tried a shortcut or learned a trick, we share it. Think of us as your cooking buddies cheering you on from across the kitchen.
Seasonal Inspiration
Living in different regions means we both get inspired by different seasonal ingredients, which keeps our recipe collection fresh and exciting year-round. We love celebrating what’s in season and showing you creative ways to use it.
Nutrition & Flexibility
We both have families with different dietary preferences and needs, so we always try to include substitution options and modifications. Whether you need dairy-free, gluten-free, or just want to sneak more veggies into dinner, we’ve got ideas for you.
Community & Connection
Cutie Cooks isn’t just about us—it’s about building a warm, welcoming community of home cooks who support and inspire each other. We absolutely love hearing from you! When you try our recipes, share your results, or tell us about your own kitchen adventures, it makes our day. Seriously, screenshot this and send us your cooking wins (and fails—we love those too!).
Meet Mia & Lily
Mia is the comfort food queen and dessert enthusiast of the duo. She lives in Portland with her husband and three kids (ages 4, 7, and 9) who keep her on her toes and provide brutally honest recipe feedback. When she’s not cooking, she’s probably planning the next meal or organizing another family baking session. Her specialty? Making everything just a little bit indulgent.
Lily is the adventurous experimenter who loves fresh, colorful dishes and trying new flavor combinations. She lives in Vancouver with her husband, two kids (ages 5 and 8), and a very food-motivated golden retriever named Biscuit. She’s the one who’ll suggest adding unexpected ingredients, and somehow, they usually work! Her mantra? “Let’s just see what happens!”
Together, we balance each other out perfectly—Mia keeps things grounded and delicious, while Lily pushes us to try new things. And honestly? That’s what makes Cutie Cooks special.
