  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 3 tsp Sriracha (or to taste)
  • Corn tortillas or hard taco shells
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Cilantro for topping

Instructions

  1. Soak shrimp in buttermilk for 10 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and corn starch.
  2. Remove shrimp from buttermilk and coat evenly in the corn starch mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Fry shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Make the bang bang sauce by whisking mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha together in a bowl.
  6. Warm tortillas and assemble tacos by adding shredded cabbage, crispy shrimp, bang bang sauce, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro.
