  • 16 ounces cooked egg noodles or penne pasta
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for sauce)
  • 3 tablespoons flour (for sauce)
  • 3 cups milk (for sauce)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs (for topping)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, imitation crab, green onion, garlic, and salt; mix until well combined.
  4. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter, whisk in flour for 1-2 minutes; slowly add milk while stirring until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a baking pan, layer half of the noodles, half of the filling mixture, and half of the sauce. Repeat layers.
  6. Bake covered for 30 minutes. Combine topping ingredients in a bowl; sprinkle over casserole and broil for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
