  • 1 yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1/2 green bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 54 oz can beef and beans (or 4 (15.5oz each) cans)
  • 4 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp dry mustard
  • 5 slices turkey bacon (diced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add about 2 tablespoons of oil. Sauté the onion and green bell pepper until softened (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add the beef and beans along with ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, dry mustard, and cooked turkey bacon to the skillet. Stir to combine and let simmer for one minute.
  4. Grease a baking dish and pour in the bean mixture.
  5. Bake uncovered for 2-3 hours until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Let cool for five minutes before serving.
