  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Rub the spice mixture over the beef shoulder thoroughly.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together yellow mustard, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth.
  5. Place the seasoned beef in a Dutch oven and pour the marinade over it. Cover tightly.
