Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the cauliflower florets with cornstarch until they are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the coated cauliflower on a baking sheet and drizzle it with vegetable oil.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), rice vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Bring this mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  6. Once the cauliflower is baked to perfection, toss it in the prepared sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve your General Tso’s Cauliflower Bowls in individual bowls garnished with sliced green onions and sprinkled sesame seeds.
