  • 1214 cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb ground chicken or beef
  • 2-inch knob ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cooking apple vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt
  • White pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • Cornstarch slurry: 2 tsp cornstarch mix with 6 tsp water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage leaves by removing them and trimming the tough stem.
  2. Blanch the leaves in boiling water for about 1 minute until softened.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat with ginger, garlic, carrot, green onion, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Assemble the rolls by placing filling onto each leaf and rolling tightly.
  5. Steam the rolls for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Prepare sauce ingredients in a pan; thicken as desired with cornstarch slurry.
  7. Serve warm with sauce poured over top.
