  • 4 cups fresh chopped peaches
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2/3 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (divided)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and spray an 8 X 8-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped peaches, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until peaches are well coated.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter with the remaining sugar (2/3 cup), milk, beaten egg, flour, salt (1/2 teaspoon), and baking powder until just combined.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish. Layer the peach mixture on top, then pour the remaining batter evenly over the peaches.
  5. Bake for about 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
