- 7–8 cups cabbage (shredded)
- 15 ounces crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 8 ounces tomato sauce (canned)
- 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt (to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (to taste)
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon oregano (dried)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped)
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes; add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until no longer pink (5-6 minutes). Mash with a potato masher for texture and drain excess fat.
- Stir in shredded cabbage with another tablespoon of oil; sauté until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
